2017-2018 Welcome!

Hello and Welcome to First grade!
It's going to be a great year!

My name is Mrs. O’Connor and I am so excited to be your teacher this year! I hope that you had a fabulous summer and I can’t wait to hear all about it. I have been busy getting the room ready for you and the other students. I am really looking forward to seeing you on our first day.

To help us all get to know each other better, I want you to make an All About Me Bag. To do this, just get a paper bag and fill it with 3-5 things that help us learn about you. During the first week of school you will be able to show these things to your classmates as you tell us a little about yourself. You can bring pictures, a book, awards, a favorite stuffed toy, or anything that tells us about you! But remember, everything must fit inside the bag!

There are a few other things that I would like you to bring on the first day.

  • a water bottle - it may be warm at school
  • a snack for the afternoon
  • gym shoes in case we have gym on our first day
  • your school supplies (unless they are already at school)
  • a big smile and a great attitude
  • and don’t forget….
  • your All About Me Bag (If you have too much to carry, you can bring it another day)

Enjoy the last few days of summer vacation. I hope that you are as excited about this school year as I am. Together we are going to have so much fun  and learn a lot of great things!!

Love,

Mrs. O’Connor

Valentine's Day and The Chocolate Touch Activity Day

The whole school participated in a Candy Activity event. It was great that the children got to stretch their muscles, play games and have lots of fun. And, I LOVE my Candy Land door!! Great job, Jackie and Nancy!!

Our Valentine's Day Party was a lot of fun. The children enjoyed decorating their hearts and showing off their creations in the parade. I think their favorite part was passing out and opening the Valentines. I love all the holiday colors in these pictures!
