Math Centers

In math, we have finished up Topic 2, which was all about addition and subtraction to 10. But besides the work the children do in their math books, they also work in math centers. The children have a partner and work on different math skills. Many of September's center games were based on reinforcing facts to 10. Several of these games are differentiated, allowing the children to work at their level of understanding. The children are rotated through the centers so that everyone has a chance to play each of the games. Not only are the children up and moving, they are interacting with each other and having Fun! Mara and Justin's game involves decomposing numbers to practice math facts.
Jason and Keeley are working on matching facts to the correct sum.
Cylis and Luke are using problem solving skills to complete this open ended puzzle.
David and Leighton are counting and reviewing teen numbers.
Luc and Brynn are are a hunt for math facts.
Daniel and Sydney are using shape templates to construct pictures

Ava and Kaleb are on a number hunt to fill in their answer sheet using number words. 
George and Zain on on the computer practicing math facts on Xtra Math.
